This Working Party includes research aimed at examinations of the "naturally" occurring variations in wood properties, whether the woody material comes from trees grown in "natural" stands or in plantation culture or may come from a wood resource not commonly used at present. Recently, research in this area has highlighted wood properties of tropical species.
