The objectives of this Working Party are to promote the exchange of knowledge, expertise, ideas and research findings in the area of wood carbonisation fundamentals. It would appear that there are quite a few groups and individuals around the world who are working on topics related to the more fundamental aspects of wood carbonisation, slow pyrolysis of biomass or charcoal making. It is hoped that the future activities of this Working Party will make it easier for these researchers and practitioners to share their findings and to keep abreast of current developments in this field.
