7.01.03 – Impacts of air pollution and climate change on forest ecosystems – Atmospheric deposition, soils and nutrient cycles

Print
Coordinator:
Mark Fenn, United States
Deputies:
Viktor Bruckman, Austria
Jesada Luangjame, Japan

State of Knowledge

Our goal is to exchange and share with the broader scientific community our evolving knowledge about the effects of air pollution on soils and biogeochemical cycling in forests. In the past, we have placed emphasis on sulfur, nitrogen and ozone effects. These studies are continuing, and we are also adding elevated carbon dioxide, climate change, and fire to our list of subjects. Information on these subjects is disseminated at meetings and via email to IUFRO members of this unit as well as interested colleagues throughout the world.
