IUFRO Seeks New Executive Director

Dr. Peter Mayer, who has most successfully served IUFRO as Executive Director since 2003, has been appointed Director of the Austrian Federal Research and Training Centre for Forests, Natural Hazards and Landscape (BFW) in Vienna, Austria. During his time with IUFRO, Dr. Mayer has managed to increase the visibility of the organization in international forest-related fora considerably. His term will end after the IUFRO World Congress at the end of August 2010,

Now IUFRO is seeking to appoint an Executive Director to serve as its chief executive officer based at the Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, as of 1 November 2010. In the interim period, Alexander Buck will act as Executive Director and lead IUFRO Headquarters.
