Launch of Updated GFIS Site

When you visit GFIS website, you will immediately notice that the site has changed. In order to provide an outlet for the GFIS information providers to share and promote ALL of their information media, we have added the ability to showcase forest-related videos on the site. As with traditional RSS feeds, GFIS will harvest the YouTube video feeds of our information providers regularly so that our users can view all the latest and forest relevant videos in one place.

The site has also been translated into Portuguese, so it is better positioned to serve key information providers in the world’s forest regions.  GFIS now hosts information in 12 languages and translates the titles into English using a mouse-over application powered by Google. Along with these changes, a number of small modifications have been made throughout the site making the latest version of GFIS better catered to serve the needs of our providers and users.
