1st African IUFRO-FORNESSA Regional Congress

The first African IUFRO-FORNESSA Regional Congress and ITTO/AFF Forest Policy Day will be held from 25 to 30 June 2012 in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of the Congress is: Forest and Trees Serving the Peole of Africa and in the World.

The Congress will provide a platform for African forest scientists, forest managers and policy makers and their colleagues from other parts of the world to share and exchange information and experiences on critical issues affecting forest and wildlife resources in Africa. The overall goal of the Congress is to demonstrate how forest science is impacting on livelihoods, environmental management and development in Africa. The Congress will highlight research that puts relevant information in the hands of forest communities, forest managers, policy makers, the private sector and civil society.

We cordially invite you to visit the website of the first IUFRO-FORNESSA Regional Congress at: http://www.fornis.net/congress/en/homepage, and to consider active participation – send your abstract by 31 December 2011.

We will be glad to welcome you on this occasion in Nairobi, Kenya, in June 2012 .
