Highlighting IUFRO events at the World Forestry Congress: "Global Forest Science Collaboration - Investing in Knowledge Generation, Capacity Building and Education in Forestry" and more…


At the forthcoming World Forestry Congress, IUFRO will hold a side event on "Global Forest Science Cooperation" on 9 September, 18:15 – 19:30 hours, hall 1A (open to all Congress participants).

Among other things, this event principally aims at discussing framework conditions and investment in research, education and capacity development that are required to achieve impact on policies and practices promoting forest sustainability at all levels. It will also elaborate on the role of networking as means of generating, synthesizing and disseminating scientific knowledge.

This issue also presents reports from meetings on "Mountain Forest Management in a Changing World" and "Silviculture and Management of Dryland Forests", as well as announcements of future meetings.
