IUFRO News Vol. 36, Issue 6 issued in June 2007 informs about the findings of the IUFRO Directors' meeting on forest research management in an era of globalization. It also announces that the 'forestknowledge.net' internet platform received the 2007 Schweighofer Innovation Award for Forestry. A report from the Interdivisional Conference on Forest Landscape Restoration held in May in Korea and a series of meeting announcements are also included in this issue.

Forests, bioenergy and climate change as well as the capacity of healthy and productive forests to mitigate climate change are the main topics of this issue.
