Together with the Center for Integrated Areas of Kyoto University, Japan, IUFRO's Special Project on World Forests, Society and Environment (WFSE) has recently published two articles in Spanish language from the 2010 WFSE book "Forests and Society – Responding to Global Drivers of Change". The articles give a detailed analysis of the current situation of the Amazon forests describing challenges, threats and opportunities the forests and the people who depend on them are facing and places special emphasis on community forest management.
