IUFRO News Vol. 37, Issue 10, 2008

IUFRO News 10, 2008 highlights two IUFRO meetings: At the recent IUFRO beech symposium in Japan participants had a close look at beech-dominated forests and their response to climate change with a view to providing scientific support for proper adaptive management measures. At the 23rd IUFRO Conference for Specialists in Air Pollution and Climate Change Effects on Forest Ecosystems in Switzerland the focus was on sharing information on impacts and interactions of air pollutants and climate change on the tree and forest ecosystem performance across latitudinal and altitudinal ranges. Moreover, this issue reports on IUFRO’s activities at the European Forest Week and includes the first announcement of the IUFRO World Congress to be held from 23-28 August 2010 in Seoul, Korea.
