IUFRO The Advocate for Forest Science.
The first issue of IUFRO News in 2011 presents meetings reports from the China-ASEAN International Wood Culture Forum held in Nanning, China in November 2010, and from the Asia and the Pacific Symposium on Vulnerability Assessments to Natural and Anthropogenic Hazards in Manila, Philippines, in December. It also informs about IUFRO's joint Learning Event with IUCN at Forest Day 4 Cancún, Mexico, that focused on potential synergies and trade-offs between mitigation and adaptation in forest landscapes. Furthermore, the latest GFEP assessment report entitled "Embracing Complexity: Meeting the Challenges of International Forest Governance" (IUFRO World Series Vol. 28) is now available for download together with a Policy Brief (in English, French and Spanish) and a press release.
