IUFRO News, issue 9 of 2009 looks at the arguments for more social science in forestry that were discussed at the 15th International Symposium on Society and Resource Management (ISSRM) in Vienna, Austria. It also includes reports from a 7.03.04 meeting on non-native pests held in Hawaii and from a WFSE workshop of lead authors and editors of the forthcoming book on "Future of Forests – Responding to Global Changes". The issue highlights the activities of IUFRO at the World Forestry Congress in Argentina and also lists many new publications and upcoming meetings.
