Rio+20 and Forests

This booklet is the result of a joint effort of the 14 members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) and features stories that illustrate the multiple functions and services of forests. The focus of this publication is on the country level and the diverse selection of stories reveals the progress and exemplary ways in which countries have taken a holistic landscape approach to implementing sustainable forest management at all levels. IUFRO has contributed two on-the-ground stories to this booklet, one on "Harvesting bio-energy from forests: Biodiesel from Jatropha" oon page 27 and one on “Employing traditional knowledge: Gum Arabic Cultivation in Sudan” on page 32.
