IUFRO The Advocate for Forest Science.
The Working Group is closely associated with the Asia Pacific Association of Forestry Research Institutes (APAFRI) which is the Asian chapter of IUFRO and has developed a Journal of Dipterocarp Research to permit researchers and scientists working on dipterocarps to actively and inexpensively share the results of their collective research. This journal was developed as a web-based electronic journal; you may view the articles at your desk, without sharing with others, for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The electronic journal system works 24 hours a day.
All researchers are welcomed to submit their articles related to the topic. When there is an uploaded article, the administrator will be notified within two hours. Then the administrator will notify the relevant editors to start the editing process. The editors can communicate with the author directly or through the administrator, for the necessary modification or revision of the article. When the article is ready, the administrator will upload it and electronic notification will be sent out to all the subscribers.
This Journal of Diptercarp Research was developed by APAFRI as a pilot e-journal template. It is a tool that can be used for the management, publication and distribution of scientific journals. The e-journal template can substantially reduce the editing time with interactive communication between the author and the editor. With the APAFRI e-journal template, printing and shipping costs are effectively eliminated. The e-journal also eliminates the need to compile an entire volume prior to distribution.
Starting from 1 November 2002, APAFRI would like to request to those who are interested to subscribe, or would like to have more information on this journal, to contact our Secretariat or visit our website at www.apafri.org under the e-journal services.
