Under the auspices of International Plant Propagator’s Society and University of Forestry (Sofia).

Eight invited lectures papers and many voluntary papers will be presented at the Conference.

The key-speakers that have confirmed their participation are:

  • Prof. Wolfgang Spethmann (University of Hanover,Germany)

The International Scientific Committee includes distinguished scientists in the field from many countries of Europe, Asia and North America.

More than 120 participants are expected. Also, producers of ornamental plants from Europe and America will be invited. We will organize special meeting for them and they could discuss for their collaboration etc.

The voluntary papers presented at the Conference will undergo peer reviewing by two anonymous experts and will be published (depending on the will of their authors) in the journal "Propagation of Ornamental Plants".

The main objective of the 2007 Symposium is to exchange on Larch research progress particularly on genetics, tree breeding, floral biology and nursery production. Additional sessions on applied Larch silviculture and wood utilization might also be part of the Symposium.In the past, more than 80 scientists in forest genetics and other disciplines (floral biology, nursery production, silviculture and wood science, according to the conference theme) participated to the meeting.

You are invited to submit proposals for oral presentations and posters that address any of the following themes:

  • Genetics;
  • Tree breeding;
  • Floral biology and seed production;
  • Nursery production;
  • A general topic session on Larch (Larix 2007 plenary session);
  • Larch silviculture and wood utilization (in French).
