About Unit

In addition to its long-standing collaborative research on provenance variation in growth, phenology, pest resistance, and on other inherited traits, the Working Party is concerned with Scots pine breeding strategies, selection of seed stands and plus trees, and seed orchard research and progeny testing methodology. Currently, major attention is being given to the genetic consequences of air pollution and climate change and the conservation of gene resources.
