A one off international conference entitled  "Wood, Breeding, Biotechnologies and Industrial Expectations" was held in Bordeaux (France) in June 2001 (11th – 14th). The conference was a joint meeting between a group of European Union funded projects dealing with the general topic of the conference (Wood, Breeding and Biotechnologies), the 9th Conifer Biotechnology Working Group and the IUFRO Units 5.01.02 and 2.04.00.
