The Working Party is involved in all basic aspects of physical and mechanical properties of wood and wood-based materials.

The scope encompasses not only the basic properties of these materials, but also the interaction of physical and mechanical properties. The determination of these properties includes experimental and/or modeling techniques that lead to information for expansion or improvement of reference data bases, and to support the efforts of researchers in other Working Parties
