5.03.05 – Biological resistance of wood

The aim of the Working Party Biological Resistance of Wood is to provide wood science experts of IUFRO with a forum to discuss and exchange opinions/ideas covering a wide range of aspects of biological resistance of wood and mutual collaborative projects at IUFRO-sponsored scientific meetings.

Research topics in this Working Party would include the fundamentals of the biology of degradation of wood species and materials, the resistance and susceptibility of wood to biological degradation (durability aspects), biological hazard classes, service life prediction, and test methodologies to examine biological resistance of wood.
