5.03.11 – Protection by surfacing and finishing

The aim of this Working Party is to focus on information, knowledge and issues associated with the protection of timber and timber products used in tropical and sub-tropical applications.

The Working Party will provide a platform for international scientists to present and discuss research that is relevant to the area. Topics to be discussed in the working party could include for example, biological hazards related to local environmental conditions, timber treatment processes, application of biocides before and after installation in service, product quality, and non-chemical techniques that might be used to ensure a long service life. Other topics relevant to the area may also addressed.
