Wood Structure and Properties '06, Proceedings
Zvolen, Slovakia, September 2006

The latest in a series of Wood Structure and Properties meetings, organised by the Faculty of Wood Science and Technology at Zvolen University, Slovakia, was significantly expanded from previous events. This time it was co-hosted by IUFRO Division 5, and attracted a large contingent of scientists from almost 30 eastern and western nations. The main focus of the Symposium was on the recent progress in solving problems related to variability of wood properties, biological control of wood quality and the influence of wood quality on final product performance.

An excellent record of the event has been produced in the form of published proceedings, available from Arbora Publishers (Zvolen). The papers have been organised according to three topic areas: wood structure, dendrology and biological control of wood properties.

An outline of the contents is given here.
