Attention is put on studies of the specific use of forests and other nature areas including research on satisfaction and crowding. Also preferences and attitudes of the general population and specific user groups toward the use of forest resources are on the agenda. In the context of multiple-use forestry, this knowledge is seen as basic information for the policy formulation and management elaboration in relation to forest recreation. In addition, the benefits of forest recreation are brought into focus.
