At the 14th IBFRA conference, which will be held in Harbin, China, during the last week of September 2008, a WP meeting will be held and after the conference a joint IBFRA/IUFRO excursion is planned. The announcement with a detailed programme of the conference is forthcoming.

The Working Party organised a session on "Boreal Zone Forests in the Balance—Regional and Global Factors in Boreal Forest Management" at the  XXII IUFRO world congress in Brisbane, Australia, 2005. The WP has also been active through its collaboration with the International Boreal Forest Research Association (http://www.ibfra.org). When the 13th bi-annual IBFRA conference was held in Umeå, Sweden 2006, a joint IBFRA/IUFRO excursion on "Sustainable forest management" was organised.
