IUFRO The Advocate for Forest Science.
IUFRO-WFSE consists of a core group of well-known partner institutions that mobilize and facilitate the participation of the entire research community in the IUFRO-WFSE process. IUFRO-WFSE also benefits from the existing research networks provided by IUFRO. The IUFRO-WFSE Steering Committee is composed of the partners’ representatives. The coordination is provided and funded by the Finnish Forest Research Institute.
The partners form a unique forum for planning and evaluating project activities, for focusing the research on globally relevant forest issues, and for ensuring wide dissemination of the project's outputs. IUFRO-WFSE's partners are located in different regions of the world and are well aware of the most current changes and transitional developments on-going in the interrelations between forests, society and the environment.
