IUFRO The Advocate for Forest Science.
WFSE consists of a core group of well-known partner institutions that mobilise and facilitate the participation of the entire research community in the WFSE process. WFSE is also benefiting from the existing research networks provided by IUFRO. The WFSE Steering Committee is composed of the partners’ representatives, with the coordination provided and funded by the Finnish Forest Research Institute.
The partners form a unique forum for planning and evaluating the project activities, for focusing the research on globally relevant forest issues, and for ensuring wide dissemination of the output. WFSE's partners are located in different regions of the world and are well aware of the most current changes and transitional developments on-going in the interrelations between forests, society and the environment.
