The United Nations University – Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) – Pilot Research Programme on Traditional Knowledge
The UNU-IAS conducts research, postgraduate education and capacity development, both in-house and in cooperation with an interactive network of academic institutions and international organizations. Its pilot research programme on traditional knowledge (TK) is being led by UNU-IAS as part of the process towards establishment of a permanent UNU Research and Training Centre on TK. The UNU TK Institute will explore the threats to TK, methods to maintain TK, the resilience of TK systems, consider the links between conventional and indigenous scientific systems and some of the important questions this raises both in terms of research and capacity development.
