  • Joint UNECE/FAO and IUFRO Forest Products
    In conjunction with the 2006 Forest Products Society International Convention in Newport Beach, California, USA, a joint meeting was held on June 26th of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) Forest Products Marketing and Business Development Working Group 5.10.00 and United Nations Economic Commission for Europe/Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNECE/FAO) Team of Specialists in Forest Products Markets and Marketing of the Timber Committee. The program included a presentation by Dr. Richard Vlosky, Louisiana Forest Products Development Center, Louisiana State University Agricultural Center, on an overview of both organizations and their roles and contributions to global forest products marketing research, education and outreach. In addition presentations were made on marketing and business research by Dr. Eric Hansen, Oregon State University, Dr. Robert Kozak, University of British Columbia, Dr. Toshiaki Owari, University of Tokyo, and Dr. Richard Vlosky. A joint business meeting identified opportunities for collaboration further linkages between the two organizations.

We invite you to visit and provide content for the UNECE/FAO TEAM OF SPECIALISTS ON FOREST PRODUCTS MARKETS AND MARKETING: Current Issues Forum website at http://www.rnr.lsu.edu/lfpdc/unece/.  This is the website of the Team of Specialists on Forest Products Markets and Marketing (ToSFPMM) which has a mandate in the field of forest products markets and marketing from the UNECE Timber Committee and the FAO European Forestry Commission. Individuals participate by providing the information presented on this website. However, this website is not an official website nor endorsed by any of the following entities: United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), UNECE Timber Committee, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), or the FAO European Forestry Commission.

The site was built and is maintained by Dr. Richard Vlosky, ToSFPMM Team Leader and Director and Professor of Forest Products Marketing, Louisiana Forest Products Development Center in the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. The site was launched in 2004 and currently contains over 650 documents, presentations and links. In 2007, the site received over 47,000 visits and over 3.5 gigabytes of data/information was downloaded.
