The University of Freiburg invites applications for the tenure-track Professorship for Pathology of Trees, to be filled by 01.10.2021. This is a grade W1-professorship to which performance payments can be offered. This professorship is suitable for highly qualified early career researchers. The professorship represents the field of "Tree Pathology" in research and teaching. The research focusses on fungal diseases and their ecology, both in terms of emergence as well as prevention and environmental control with a focus on Central Europe. Special attention should be paid to newly introduced and potentially importable pathogens on forest trees. The professorship thus makes a significant contribution to the sustainable protection of trees and forests, which in turn has not only ecological, but also economic and social significance.
