IUFRO's Partners

Who does IUFRO work with?

IUFRO, as the global voice of forest science, has systematically strengthened its participation in international processes. It has established long-term partnerships with inter-governmental, governmental and non-governmental institutions and is directly involved in various inter-governmental processes and conventions.

In addition, IUFRO engages in a number of international partnerships and initiatives through specific projects, joint initiatives and other relevant activities. Partners often include non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and initiatives, private sector entities, major groups of civil society (e.g. the scientific and technological community; children and the youth), and other science organizations.

IUFRO’s relationships with its partners are either on a bilateral and equal level (e.g. through Memoranda of Understanding or similar agreements with a specific organization, including with member organizations) or defined by the level of contribution and participation (e.g. by being a partner in a partnership, in a process, in an umbrella organization etc.). All IUFRO’s activities with its partners are in line with the IUFRO Strategy post 2020 and contribute to the implementation of the associated Strategy Action Plan 2020-2024.
