TUD Winter School on Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs)

With the global recognition of the potential contributions of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) to rural livelihoods, income generation, food and nutritional security, there are reasonable concerns about the sustainability of their extraction and utilization. While evidence from scholarly research provides a new perspective on the potential role of NTFPs in supporting sustainable bioeconomy transitions, the winter school brings together interested students and leading experts in the field to promote learning by discussions, information exchange, knowledge, and innovation transfer. The evolution of theoretical knowledge and new thinking in NTFP use and management toward addressing global challenges and achieving sustainable development goals will be presented using exemplary case studies. The target audience includes forestry and natural resource management students (MSc and PhD levels) and practitioners interested or involved in NTFP work. Application for the winter school is competitive and admission places are restricted to 30 participants.
