The World Bank
IUFRO has established a strong collaborative partnership with the World Bank, particularly in the frame of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF). Since 2007, IUFRO has led and coordinated the Global Forest Expert Panels (GFEP) initiative of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.
Joint activities:
- Collaboration within the CPF's Global Forest Expert Panel (GFEP) initiative (LINK)
- IUFRO and the World Bank's Program on Forests (PROFOR) jointly convened a Global Expert Workshop on Fire and Climate Change with the aim of improving the understanding of the complex interrelations between wildfire, climate, and land management and of identifying urgently required response strategies and action (LINK). - IUFRO's Special Programme for Development of Capacities (SPDC) works with the Sri Lanka Forest Department (FD) in partnership with the Ecosystem Conservation and Management Project (ESCAMP) and IUCN Sri Lanka. ESCAMP is funded by the World Bank (LINK)
