A workshop held last December in Nanning, China, discussed the multinational and transboundary conservation of valuable and endangered forest tree species in Southeast Asia and South Asia.

Among the topics discussed at the Asia and the Pacific Workshop – Multinational and Transboundary Conservation of Valuable and Endangered Forest Tree Species, held from 5-7 December 2011 in Nanning, Guangzhou, China, were: multinational and transboundary conservation initiatives; national strategies, policies and programmes in conservation of valuable tree species; plantation establishments; genetic diversity and conservation status; and pests and diseases. An interesting and interactive panel discussion looked at the prospect and challenges of "Strengthening Multinational and Traditional Conservation of Valuable and Endangered Forest Tree Species".
