Description

Forest invasive species pose an increasing threat to the health, sustainability, and productivity of natural and planted forests in the Asia-Pacific region. These threats are closely associated with the ever-increasing movement of goods and people across the globe, exacerbated by the impacts of climate change. Tree mortality by invasive species often times exceeds the amount of damage caused by forest fires. Therefore, awareness-raising and capacity building on forest invasive species are important for policy and research implementation and development.
