Professor in Forest Mycology and Pathology // 23 March 2024

In keeping with its development plan, the Department of Wood and Forest Sciences, Université Laval, is seeking a Professor in forest mycology and pathology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in French at all levels, to support the department's various programs, in particular, the bachelor's degree in forest management and environment, the cooperative bachelor's degree program in forest operations, and the integrated bachelor's degree in natural and managed environments, and to develop a competitive research program in the targeted fields. More specifically, teaching and research activities will focus on the following areas: 1. Forest pathology as it relates to forest management and nursery stock production; 2. Forest mycology focusing on the biology and ecological functions of fungi; 3. Study of plant symbioses in tree nutrition and development; 4. Impact of global change on the evolution of pathosystems and root symbioses; 5. Development of strategies to increase tree resilience to disease and abiotic stress in urban environments.
