Scientific Summary No. 82, 2011
The international symposium of IUFRO 3.08.00 Small-scale Forestry held in Kuusamo, Finland, from 3-5 April 2011 drew some 30 participants from nine countries and focused on "Recent Advances in Land Owner Extension", focusing especially on peer-to-peer learning among land owners. Since traditional natural resource planning and guidance services can no longer fulfill the needs of a modern land owner, there is a clear need for education, information and guidance addressed to land owners to take new and innovative forms in order to reach the target group and benefit both owners themselves and society in general.
