The (Senior) Researcher / Expert will work in the Sustainable Markets and Society team, and will participate in collaborative projects and research proposals of relevance to EFI’s Bioeconomy Programme. The position focuses on developing and piloting sustainability impact assessment (SIA), life-cycle analysis (LCA), biodiversity footprinting methods together with research and practice partners, and mainstreaming these approaches to sustainability strategies and sustainable business models in forest-related sectors. The (Senior) Researcher / Expert will also be expected to: - Contribute to developing research funding applications; - Support project management (contents, finances, reporting); - Lead and contribute to scientific articles, reports, policy briefs and other publications; - Present and communicate research results to decision makers, researchers, and stakeholders, and the general public; - Supervise the work of trainees and junior researchers.

Associate Professorship or Professorship in Outdoor Recreation and Green Space Planning // 7 August 2024

The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen, invites applications at associate or professor level in the field Outdoor Recreation and Green Space Planning. The positions will primarily be based in the Section for Landscape Architecture and Planning – Society where social aspects of green space is a central research topic, but the positions have broader relevance for the department. Successful candidates should be internationally recognized within the field of Outdoor Recreation and Green Space Planning with special focus on some of the following issues: - Recreation and cultural ecosystem services; - Recreational and other socio-cultural aspects of people’s nature relationships, such as perception, wellbeing, and sense of place research; - Recreation resource assessment, monitoring and geo-spatial mapping; - Green space and outdoor recreation planning, governance and management, urban forestry, green infrastructure and nature-based solutions; - Monitoring and documentation of outdoor recreation including both qualitative and quantitative approaches, and special user groups (e.g. children and ethnic minorities); - Involvement of multiple stakeholder groups (e.g. associations, landowners, volunteers, citizens etc.) in planning and governing of natural areas and green spaces in relation to outdoor recreation.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Plant-Associated Molecular Mycology // 15 August 2024

The Department of Plant Pathology, The Ohio State University, is inviting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Plant-Associated Molecular Mycology. The Department's aim is to recruit, support, and retain a scholar who will develop a strong, interdisciplinary, nationally and internationally recognized research and teaching program focused on fungi and/or oomycetes that interact with plants. To that end, we encourage applications from scholars whose research interests and experience may include, but are not limited to, the evolution of fungicide resistance, molecular plant-microbe interactions, population genomics, metagenomics, functional genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics of fungal and/or oomycete pathogens. Programs that use emerging computational and data-analytic approaches are highly desirable. The incumbent will be expected to seek both internal and external research support funds and training grants from government, industry, and other appropriate sources. The incumbent will become an integral part of the Department of Plant Pathology academic program and interact with and enhance a strong mycology community at Ohio State in support of the new undergraduate Minor in Mycology by developing or participating in courses as appropriate. The incumbent will teach/co-teach a course in Plant Pathogenic Fungi and associated laboratory, and develop a mycology-themed course of broad interest to diverse undergraduate students.
