Update on planned activities - Task Force fact sheet; 26 November 2012

The theme "Forest for People" will be addressed by two conferences and related publications. The goal for both conferences is to build a systematic body of knowledge about the relationship between forests and people in all its facets, including future trends and challenges.

  • Conference in Alpbach/Austria (22-24 May 2012) - participation from all regions is expected (see http://ffp2012.boku.ac.at);
  • A focused meeting with selected participants in Kenya/Africa on perspectives from developing countries (2012).

Ulrike Pröbstl will organize the conference in Europe. Perry Brown will organize the meeting in Kenya. For the required steering committee we asked the 9 Divisions to name interested members.

Target audiences for the conferences are:

  • Policy Makers and Selected Public Audiences
  • Forest Managers
  • Scientists
  • Science Administrators
