IFSA Internship at IUFRO Headquarters, Vienna

For several years, the International Union of Forest Research Organisations (IUFRO), as one of IFSA's partners, has been offering an internship opportunity to students from IFSA Local Committees.


Description:

Each year, one (maximum two) student(s), has (have) the opportunity to work at IUFRO Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, for approximately two months, assisting with diverse projects within IUFRO and getting an insight into the work of an international organisation. This year, one student will have the opportunity to work with IUFRO for two months starting mid-October 2017. The tasks of the student intern(s) mostly consist of office work, such as assisting with the preparation of reports, updating of databases and translation of documents.  IFSA is able to support the intern(s) with a small stipend partially covering the subsistence costs in Vienna. The amount varies, depending on the number of interns in a given year. The successful applicants will be informed about the exact amount upon being notified of acceptance. The intern will be stationed at IUFRO HQ at Marxergasse 2, Vienna, Austria.

Application requirements:

In order to apply for this year's internship, the following documents should be sent to iufro.lo(at)ifsa.netiufro.lo(at)ifsa.net by 14/04/2017, 23:59 CET (please note that only students  who are currently enrolled in university and are members of an official IFSA Local Committee (LC) can apply):

  • letter of motivation  
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • letter from LC president confirming that applicant is currently a LC member
  • one academic reference (e.g. from a professor or supervisor)
  • certification of enrolment (copy of valid student ID or similar)  

Applications that are incomplete or are submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
