Biography

Alexia Stokes (INRAE France) has a PhD on tree biomechanics from the University of York (UK) and has spent 30 years in France working at INRAE. After spending 10 years at INRAE Bordeaux, in 2005 - 2007, Alexia worked at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing (LIAMA lab), before then moving to Montpellier, France.

Alexia specialises in the biophysical interactions between vegetation and soil, with the goal of finding solutions for managing forests subjected to hazards such as landslides, erosion and storms.
