Planned Activities and Events

  • Moderated e-discussions
    It is proposed to organize moderated e-discussions on selected topics of conservation significance involving wildlife researchers, students, academics, managers and decision-makers. These will help to synthesize the state-of-the-art knowledge and experience and to determine the current status of wild species population distribution and abundance.

  • Knowledge Portal
    It is proposed to develop an e-knowledge portal to facilitate the dissemination of researched information and recommendations emanating from wildlife research projects that could be used for informed decision-making and for implementing good management practices.
  • Workshop on "Managing Wildlife in Forested Ecosystems: Challenges and Opportunities"
    It is proposed to organize a workshop in late 2007/ early 2008 in Europe, preferably in Austria on'‘Managing Wildlife in Forested Ecosystems: Challenges and Opportunities'. The objective is to share global experience and to bring out the state-of-the-art in form of a publication.
  • Liaise with CBD Programme of Work on "Protected Areas" and "Forest Biological Diversity"
    It is proposed to maintain close linkages with CBD Programme of Work on 'Protected Areas' and 'Forest Biological Diversity' so as to develop synergies and facilitate programme implementation in selected countries.
