The conference will take place on September 16-20, 2019 at the Kazakh Research Institute of Forestry and Agroforestry in Shchuchinsk, Kazakhstan. The conference is the sixth in a series of international scientific meetings that were earlier held under the auspices of International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO, working group 2.02.00 - Conifer breeding and genetic resources) in the format of international meetings on conservation of forest genetic resources (2017 – Gomel, Belarus; 2007 and 2015 – Barnaul, Altai Krai; 2011 – Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai; 2009 – Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk Region).

About Unit
This Research Group has the objective of genetically improving the growth and other properties of major coniferous tree species. It is also concerned with the identification and distribution of genetic variation in forest trees and with the preservation of genetic resources of conifers for the future.
