Training Workshop on Systematic Review in Forest Science

3-day IUFRO-SPDC Training Workshop on Systematic Review in Forest Science.

IUFRO's Special Programme for Development of Capacities (SPDC) in collaboration with the Biodiversity Institute, University of Oxford, UK and the Asia Pacific Association of Forestry Research Institutions (APAFRI)  is organizing a 3-day training workshop on systematic review in forest science, to be held at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) in Kepong, Selangor, Malaysia from 17 to 19 November 2015.

The need for quantitative and qualitative scientific evidence for policy and management required for the conservation, restoration and sustainable management of landscapes has significantly risen in recent years. For the forest science community it is therefore important that sufficient evidence is generated from the body of globally available scientific research for the purpose of informing policy decisions and actions about forests and forest-related land-uses.

This Training Workshop will discuss tools for systematic reviews which aim to support good decision-making. Using a participatory approach, participants will learn how to prepare systematic reviews that assess the evidence base for priority policy and practice questions. More
