GLFx Lilongwe

As a charter member of the Global Landscapes Forum IUFRO is proud to support the establishment of GLFx Lilongwe in partnership with the Centre for Applied Systems Analysis (CASA) and with generous funding from the German Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).

GLFx Lilongwe is coordinated by CASA, a local knowledge Centre in Malawi that aims at catalyzing knowledge production and use in public decision-making, policy development and practice for overall wellbeing of men and women in Malawi. The Chapter brings together relevant landscape actors such as farmers associations, NGOs, governmental departments, private sector and educational institutions to jointly work towards building a critical mass of trained forest landscape restoration (FLR) practitioners. These in turn are keen to share their local experience with restoring land and – at the same time - learn from the world through participating in GLFx events.
