Our Working Party strives for promoting interdisciplinary international collaborative research and graduate education in ecological economics applied in forestry. We also aim to strengthen IUFRO's work at the science-policy interface.

In addition to the broadly discussed topics, such as carbon market, ecosystem management, and payments for ecosystem services, we also bring special attention to the needs to think about natural disturbances of forest ecosystem, such as wildland fires, from economic and social perspectives.
