Forestry Officer (REDD+) // 27 April 2017The UN-REDD Programme Team at FAO is seeking a Forestry Officer (REDD+). The post is located in the REDD+ team which supports developing countries in their efforts to mitigate climate change through the implementation of REDD+ activities while contributing to national sustainable development. The incumbent will lead, provide technical guidance and coordination for FAO REDD+ global thematic groups working on REDD+ - forest governance (including safeguards, land tenure and REDD+ legal issues) and will support the work on implementation of REDD+ actions, while ensuring technical linkage with other FAO teams for coordinated support. In addition, the incumbent will support the technical and operational delivery of the FAO REDD+ Programme at the country level providing liaison between the REDD+ coordinator and REDD+ thematic experts based in Headquarters and regions to ensure technical consistency and supporting the Organisation's coordination efforts.
