Five PhD scholarships for projects related to restoration of degraded forest landscapes // 31 March 2022

The Forest Research Institute, University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) is inviting expressions of interest for five PhD scholarships that are available for projects related to restoration of degraded forest landscapes. The scholarships are fully funded including a living stipend and fee scholarship. The students will undertake their research as part of a large reforestation project working with communities to restore degraded landscapes in the Philippines. The Forest Research Institute is willing to consider students with a range of research interests, but is particularly looking for potential students to work on topics related to (1) assisted natural regeneration (2) benefit sharing arrangements, 3) livelihoods and (4) remote sensing and the use of drones in monitoring reforestation, and 5) a Reforestation Project. The Reforestation Project scholarship is reserved specifically for Filipino applicants.
